Now look at the illustration and describe all the ways that these children are different. What do you notice about the differences between their faces (eyes, noses, mouths)? What about their hair? Do you notice differences in what they are wearing?
3
Have you ever been left out or picked on because others thought you were different than they were? How does it feel inside when that happens? What do you show on the outside (watery eyes, making a fist, crossing your arms, running away…)? What can really help to make you feel better?
4
Have you ever teased or ignored other people because they were different from you? How do you think they feel when they are teased or left out? Name some different ways that they might show on the outside how they are feeling on the inside. What can you do to help them feel better?
5
Why is it important to celebrate our differences and the differences of others?
Act A
Think about someone you love. How do you show them and let them know what it is you really appreciate and find unique and special about them?
Act B
Go outside and use your senses (what are your senses?) Are any of the rocks or pebbles exactly the same? Are tree trunks or the leaves on trees exactly the same? Are flowers in a flower garden exactly the same? Find something that you can give to someone you want to celebrate, and tell him/her it is a symbol of how special they are.
